grab handle

when purchasing our 2014 white hawk 24rbs, dealer was going to install a grab handle as part of deal. when i contacted jayco about this, they advised against it as they said there is no backing to support it. after a year, really miss having one. has anyone installed grab handle using wall anchors/etc. or can suggest an alternative?

thanks,

grampacc

If Jayco advised against it, I'd skip the wall anchors, etc. What you might give a try is one of those vacuum type handles folks install in their bathrooms for seniors needing a little help getting into the shower or bath with. I picked one up at Walmart for around $10 when my elderly mom visited last year and it served its purpose well.

Are you asking about a grab handle outside by the door to assist walking up/down the steps or a grab handle for the shower/tub?
If you are asking about an outside grab handle, my dealer has installed them on my last two TT's. My first one did not come with the larger swing out grab handle. They installed it, but I paid for the handle.
My second TT (current TT) only had one on the front door, so we purchased a second one and had the dealer install it on the back door leading in to the bathroom.

I had one installed on mine also. Just mount it above the existing handle at the top and were ever the bottom ends up. There should be an up-right support parallel to the door that the existing handle is mounted to.

I had one installed at dealer, had it in 3 times because they screwed it into nothing, no backing their, they finally had to remove door frame and put some backing board to screw into, figured the dealer would of known their was nothing to screw into before installing
