Hand cranking slide-in

I recently bought a 2014 X213 and everything works great on it! However I am wondering about how to manually hand crank the slide-in back to the park position if I ever need to. Where do I insert the crank handle, and which way to turn it, etc.?
Can anybody provide me with instructions and/or photos?
Thanks in advance.

fredetl,

Welcome to JOF

From inside the TT (rear slide extended) looking at the front wood panel in front of the bed there should be a U-shape cutout. Directly behind the cut-out is the slide motor where the "long" manual crank handle (supplied by Jayco) can be attached to the motor.

The "long" length of the crank handle allows you to be positioned far enough back from the bed for full manual opening/closing of the rear bed slide.

Ignore the white rocker switch in photos.....

It takes a long time to open/close a slide 'manually' and if you are rotating the manual hand crank in the wrong direction against a fully extended or fully retracted slide, you will be putting unwanted force against the slide motor and could compromise the motor and/or bend the motor mount.

Confirm manual hand crank rotation for your model slide motor: From the electric slide switch open the rear slide about half way, then attach the Jayco supplied manual crank to the slide motor connection point....., then make note as to the hand rotation required (clockwise/counter clockwise) to open/close the slide.

Hope this helps.

Bob

How can I ignore that switch? I'll be awake all night trying to guess what it controls?

Don't want that to happen

The switch operates LED strip lights in storage area.
