Wondering if you found out anything about mounting a TV? We just bought the 2012 Skylark and would love to mount a TV but aren't sure if we should, or how we should.
I mounted a 23 in. LCD on an inexpensive swing out wall mount from Wal-Mart on the counter top by the door. TV actually sits on the counter, the mount just keeps it off the floor, tucks back against the waal when not in use. Mounted with 3-M double sided automotive tape. Been there a year now.
We have a 2012 Skylark with the kitchen up front. We pull it with a 2009 Chevy Avalanche 4 wheel drive vehicle. Our last trip to the Masters we got 13 mpg. I do not have a sway bar at this time. We love our Skylark. I think Jayco stop making them because they were expensive and larger families were looking for more space and a cheaper trailer. This trailer is great for small families.
We just purchased a used 2011 Skylark that we're pretty excited about. But one more question: Has anyone ever flipped or shacked the axel to get more ground clearance?
I have heard people have moved it up 6 inches for more clearance. They were doing some back country camping and wanted more clearance. I thought about it. My local RV person told me it can be done.
After checking with the dealer and taking his recommendation went to a local welding shop and had my Skylark raised 4". Beautiful welding. They welded two 1/4" steel plates each side - each about 6" long - bracketed the axel. Trailer sits close to level. I pull with a 2014 Toyota 4Runner and this aligned the thrust axis of the truck with the free perfectly so the trailer rides level. There is very little bounce transfer - much less than before. And I'm no longer worried about dragging the pipes going into the Forest Service "camp grounds.'
