Hi everyone! First post

Hi everyone! This is my first post. We recently purchased a 2013 X213 to use on our unimproved riverfront mountain lot in Lansing, NC on the north fork of the new river. We can't leave the TT there so we have to store it at a nearby campground.

We have been practice camping beside our house and learning the various systems. Our typical monthly trips to the mountains will be 3-4 days of off grid boon docking on our land. We will likely stay the first night at the camp ground each time to charge batteries, fill tanks, and generally make sure everything is ready for a few days off grid. When we are done, we will take the TT back to the campground to drain tanks and lock up.

Our tow vehicle is a 2016 Ram 1500 Crew cab Big Horn V6 2WD with a 3.55 LSD rear end, it's rated at 7470lbs and tows the X213 with ease. Our X213 came with an Equalizer E2 hitch that works very well. We will see how it all performs going up the mountains. The Ram has lots of charging ports as well as an AC outlet built in.

Our x213 came with dual 12v batteries, an 80watt portable solar panel, and all lights converted to LED. I plan to upgrade to Trojan T105's when these 12v batteries die.

It also came with a 8 inch memory foam mattress topper to which we added a pillow top cover with a built in fitted sheet. We both sleep very well on this setup and I consider us to be fairly sensitive to bad mattresses.

Things we still need to do.

We still need to buy a generator. I have narrowed it down to the Champion 3100 or 3500 wireless start gas powered models.

I would like to add an inverter for television use and device charging. suggestions on model or installation tips appreciated.

Wife wants color changing LED light strip under the awning. suggestions?

Need to find a good outdoor weather proof rug to deploy at the campsite each time we arrive. suggestions?

Pics coming!!

Welcome... it's great to have you here.

I am well pleased with my Champion remote start inverter generator. I bought it refurbished (just like new-not a scratch) and got a good deal from SuperGen in NY.

I love fishing in the New River!

Congrats on your X213 trailer purchase. I use a 9x18 RV mat (easy to shake the dirt out and dries easy), have a portable 120 watt folding solar panel and a 3100 watt Champion Generator.

Trying to decide where to buy my Champion generator. I can order online and save the 7% sales tax and get free shipping or I can order from Walmart down the street and pick up at the store. The price is within $40 either way so it's more about return policy than anything else.

Ordered a Champion model 100262 3500.Was reading a PDI on champions on line directions for start up.Was a little surprised to find out per every 1000 feet in elevation above 3500'. The generator can losses 21% of its total charging watts. We camp at 6900 feet all summer hope my 15000 BTU ac will run? Thanks

I have seen them in campers close to me. They would drive me crazy with all that busyness.

Welcome.
We have a Champion 2800/3100 gen/inverter and like it. I did have to install a soft start capacitor though for the 13.5 ac

That’s one of the reasons we are getting the 3400 model with remote start. Since we will be boondocking the majority of the time, the larger generator should run the AC without any trouble.

We are hoping to run it for an hour in the morning (coffee time and recharge batteries from night before) and an hour in the evening (meal time microwave use and some TV). It’s the mountains so we are hoping AC use will be minimal.

We also have a small 80 watt portable solar panel we plan to use during the day.

One thing we did with our X213 was convert the AC to use a wall mounted thermostat, that way the fan shuts down when the compressor does so it's quiet! We also set up a particle.io asset tracker to monitor AC power when the trailer is in storage, also tracks it's position and movement so I get a text if anything happens to the trailer.

We love the X213...
