Jay Feather 23RBM

We are enjoying our new 2016 Jay Feather 23RBM. However, we do wonder why Jayco did not make the trailer 2" longer, reduce the slide or cabinetry by 2", or scale back the slide out fascia material to fully accommodate the Murphy bed in the down position. Finding 2" or adding 2" would be very doable. You cannot operate the slide out with the bed down.

The only other design flaw that stands out to us is the entry door height. At an even 6', I have to lower my head to enter or keep my upper torso at a slight forward lean. When I forget to do so, I get a bang on my crown that is both irritating and painful. If I enter fully upright, I get hammered. Why not extend it another 6"-8" to cover an even bigger fella. There is plenty of real estate above the door to put in a larger frame. Just our take on it.

Otherwise, we have not had any major issues yet, and the overall design and quality is good enough as trailers go.

Same problem with our 2016 23RBM. When the slide is in the bed cannot come down. All diagrams in the brochure indicate there is sufficient space but this is not so. I am contemplating shaving off an inch of the bed frame so that the bed can be used when the slide out is in while stopping overnight in a rest area. Anyone else have this same issue and how did you deal with it. Thx - Roamer
