Jay Feather 28R

We are looking at purchasing a Jay Feather 28R to pull behind a 2007 1500 Suburban with the 5.3 engine. Does anyone have experience with this particular model being pulled by a 1/2 ton? Looking at taking it on trips over 2000 miles. Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum 67Stang! How much will your 1/2 ton tv tow? Is it 7200#? Dry is 4585# and GVWR on your tt is 7200#? I'm guessing your safe if you don't overload the tt. Hopefully someone here tows that combo and can help ya out. Happy Shopping and let us know what you get

67stang-- I f your Chevy has the tow package you should be fine, if you don't, you can add most items without breaking the bank. The most expensive thing would be the rearend gears. Most tow/snoplow packages probably come with 3:78's or 4:11's +- depending on mfg(except deisels which may even have a 3:50 gear since they have more power). I never see anyone mention rearend gears when talking towing & to my mind they are almost the most important since they give you the extra power you need when towing & can extend the life of your motor & trans.ps your suburban can hold a lot of gear , be careful not to overload. Larry, Thanks for the response. It does have a tow package and I confirmed 3.73 rear end. I guess we are good to go. Now to save the rest of the cash and start making the deal.
