Jay feather X17z sway control

We just purchased a 2015 jay feather X17z and I am getting ready to put on the weight distribution hitch and sway control. I’m wondering about bolting the sway control plate to the frame of the trailer. I know the frames on these “lite” trailers are a little smaller, so I’m just nervous about putting those bolts through the frame.

“Through the frame”?? I bet there’s a YouTube video available explaining how to mount your system.

I have a jayco 154bh. The plate for the sway control fit just right, but no room to spare

No bolts thru the frame. U-bolts around the frame.

If you're installing a friction style sway control, the 6 self tapping bolts that attach the ball plate to the frame won't bother it. Just remember never back up with the sway bar hooked up. There's a very good chance the plate will bend.

Self tapping screws worked on all my trailers. I would drill a hole and run them with my impact gun.
Years ago I would weld everything but not now. Much easier and good results.
