First of all I want to say what a great site. So much honest information.
My wife said she would NEVER go camping...
A week ago Friday while traveling home from a business trip in Wisconsin I stopped in Madison, WI and looked at a few units. I know I would be limited due to my TV 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring. I looked at a Coleman and a few others, just to get an idea and have some questions answered. The next day we went looking at Jayco's in Illinois. A few hours at the dealer (Great Salesmen) and 2 hours in the evening negotiating we purchased our first TT. We were camping in 7 days after purchase.
About a year prior to the purchase of the 184BH, I had already changed the Run Flats to conventional rims and tires on the TV.
Last week I had a mechanic install a Transmission Cooler that I purchased from NAPA. NAPA 17510 (Hayden) this was made for trailers to 5,000 lbs. Would give me an additional 20-30K BTU's for cooling the transmission oil.
The dealer installed a new 7 pin, sway bar and electric brakes.
Yesterday we left our home for Starved Rock State Park. about an hour and half away.
Outside Temp was 94 Degrees, the head wind was between 15-20MPH the whole way. Not s single problem pulling. Engine temp stayed in the exact position the entire way. we had both air conditioners running back and front.
Set the cruise at 65MPH.
Averaged 8.9 MPG and 3500 RPM's
Returning home from our 1st trip today. Temp was 85 Degrees, the wind was not a factor.

Averaged 14.2 MPG and 1800-2500 RPM's
I am still alive.
The wife, (2) kids and dog loved it.
I had my doubts with the Odyssey due to other OPINIONS on other sites, the dealer told me that is why the 184BH is a popular model.
We are extremely happy with our decision.
