Jayco Sport - Need to Replace ceiling?

Hi.. If anyone can help assist me in where to start to remove the ceiling due to water damage I would greatly appreciate it.... This is my first camper and it is slightly overwhelming to think about taking the whole thing down but doesn't seem to be much choice.. HELP!! lol

Welcome to the JOF, Dawnmarie. Sorry to hear about your ceiling damage. Have you already addressed how the ceiling got wet in the first place? I'd do that first.

Yup.. Did that the a/c leaked ... repaired but its second hand so I knew that it needed to be repaired just not sure how to begin...

Dawnmarie, can you take some pictures of your roof damage and post them? Generally speaking the rubber roof gets peeled back to expose the damage. The roof parts are replaced. Usually the plywood and any other parts of the roof that have been damaged. The plywood is than coated with glue and the rubber is replaced and the bubbles are brushed out. There are people who do this for a living and are very efficient at it. If you choose to do this yourself there are some great websites that can help .

If your mechanically inclined, this would be a good DIY project as Im sure if your were to hire it out the cost of labor alone is prob going to add up quick. I would like to see some pics as well. Does the entire roof need to be peeled back to replace or is it somewhat minimal damage? soft spot on the roof? Im wondering if the rubber layer can be removed, throughly dry the plywood and replace/reseal damaged area? keep us updated.

I think she wants to take down the cabinets and remove the ceiling. It can air out that way and the outside will be undisturbed.
