LED Light fixture cleaning

We just purchase a new 2015 Jayco White Hawk 23MBH, the LED light fixtures have collected some bugs inside, we have tried to remove the covers to clean the bugs out but can't seem to find a way to get the cover off. The covers are not the tradition slide off lens covers. Anyone out there know how to do this?

Just to the side of the 2 slots on each side are the clips that hold them on.
I thought I was going to break something when I started to pry at the gaps there to check out my lights, but the cover eventually popped off.

I was pleasantly surprised that the lights in my 2014 x17z were LED, when everything I read on here seemed to point to them being standard bulbs.

If anyone has a better way to remove these, Id also like to know. It really seemed like I was about to pull down part of the celling trying to remove the cover.

Thanks for the info. We have been worried about breaking something or damaging the ceiling to which they are mounted. The Tech that ran us through the demo didn't show us how to remove the light covers.
Thanks again, when we have the unit out again, in a couple of weeks, we will try to do this. The one light in the bathroom is just full of bugs.

Did pry on those two slots with something or did you just press on that area?

I was using a flat screw-driver on a multi-tool.. not the best option for the job.

A normal screw driver seems like it would be better.. even better yet if you could find some sort of flat, bent, tool that could slip in there and down to help pop the clips.. I may try again just to see and take a few pics when I get home.

Sounds like one of the paint can openers you get from Lowes or HD would be the perfect tool.

Good call! I tried out a paint can opener.. it doesn't seem to give you much pull on the light, but it hits the clips just right and with a twist, the cover came right off.

I cleaned the sawdust out of mine today, I used a butter knife near the tabs.
