New 166FBS owner "in the house" .

Hi all ,
Just wanted to check in and say HI .
We are new owners of a 2022 Jayco Jay Feather Micro 166FBS .
We were actually about to commit to a new Winnebago Micro Mini (2108TB) , when we happen to stumble upon the Jayco . I loved it from the outside , but when we went inside, we knew this was "the one" . Very well thought out and engineered interior ........just everything about is awesome . Kind of made the Winnebago feel kind of .......plain? This Jayco just checked every box , so we quickly decided to commit and buy it . It is a 2022 with the Vintage grey interior , and just about every option , minus the JayCommand (which I dont really want anyway .......trying to keep it simple . )

Back story is in order ......... we are in search of the "perfect RV" (for our needs) .
We have cycled through 4 RV's in 4 years starting in 2019 (yes , you read that correctly) . 1 new RV a year until we find the right fit !
Trying to find the perfect , small and easy, least stressful towing RV that is still large enough to be comfortable .

Our First unit in 2019 was a NuCamp T@B 320S Boondock . We absolutely LOVED this RV, and greatly miss it , but alas , it just proved to be too small and cramped .

Second unit was a 32' Keystone Outback . We had this one the shortest amount of time . Just proved to be too large to tow comfortably . Also throw in double blow outs on RT 95 in ST. Augustine Florida sealed its fate for us .

Our last (most recent) unit was a 2021 Keystone Passport 229RK that I felt was just a little too big and heavy to comfortably tow (has nothing to do with our tow rig , just a personal factor) . In a years time , we put about 8k miles on the Keystone and about 2 months worth of "sleeps" in it . We loved the interior , and it towed great , but it was still a load to tow around . I grew tired of the driving with it .

Hoping this New Jayco Jay Feather 166FBS will be a much "easier" tow for us ! We love everything about it , and it's a lot lighter and shorter than our Keystone. . It seems somehow more comfortable even though its quite a bit smaller .........not sure how Jayco pulled this one off . It's awesome .

Oh , our tow rig ......is I guess kind of a "classic" now .
We tow with a 2001 Chevy Suburban LT 2500 / 8.1- 496 . It's a beast of a tow rig , but has a love affair with gas stations, lol. We can go a pretty long stretch with the 38 gallon fuel tank though ! With the Keystone we were averaging 7-8 mpg.

Hoping this much lighter, single axle Jayco will be a much easier (less stressful) tow ! Possibly a bit better MPG's too .......one can hope !

Anyway , just wanted to stop in and say HI !
Looking forward to learning all I can about our new 166.

Thanks for the welcome @Grumpy .

Ironically , the double blowout we had on our Keystone Outback on RT95 in ST. Augustine , was on our way back home to PA .........leaving Disneys Ft. Wilderness ! Love that place ! Longest we have stayed so far is a 2 week stretch.

There is nothing like the feeling of "This is the one" congrats and Welcome to the group!

I am a die hard Ford guy but love the old GM 8.1 motors. They were a beast in their day and are still holding their own today...

Yes, love the 8.1 , just about as bulletproof of a motor that you could ask for .

That new Ford 7.3 "Godzilla" has peaked my interest though . Very similar specs as the old GM 8.1 . Just waiting to see how it does in the first couple years before I think of committing .

Dont have any pictures of the new 166 yet , but here is a picture of our "Burb" . Was taken in Maine, in the Acadia area ......

Here is one hooked up to our 21 Keystone on the road in Florida at ..........well you all know where this is !

Welcome! If you haven't been reading 166 stuff here, I would strongly urge you to do so. I tell people it is a wonderfully designed trailer with the unfortunately common poor workmanship in many areas. An example is the drawers, particularly the 3 large ones under the sink and stovetop. You will see from many posts that, if you put a load in the drawers and drive 100 miles, the bottoms will have broken out.

The thing is, due to reading for a month before I got mine, I knew about it and reinforced the bottoms before they ever had a chance to become a problem!
