New owner with 2015 Jayflight 195 RB

Just got back from my 2nd time use of my 15 jayflight. 2nd night camping, and I smell this horrible sulfur smell. Immediately think it's the propane, and it was really strong near the left hand side of the bed near the floor.

I immediately go outside and smell it by the same front corner and under the trailer where my side of the bed is. I turn off the propane, but the smell lingered and after opening all windows etc, I reluctantly go to bed, but really don't sleep. I get home and soap up everything from the propane bottle, fittings, hose etc to each appliance. No leaks. Finally figure out it was one of my dual batteries was cooked. So I then think my trailer is over charging and ruined battery.

Go to Trailer repair, and replace both batteries, and tech advises me the previous owner had wired it wrong and etc. Tech checked the current going from trailer to batteries to make sure it was not over charging, and it was where it was suppose to be.

I had never smelled a battery like that, and im glad it was not propane.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about the battery trouble. Did you buy the camper from a dealer's pre-owned inventory or from a private party? I would like to think that if bought through a dealer they would have checked things over first, but maybe not. Any idea how old the batteries may have been? Sounds like it's all fixed now and you can get back to enjoying it.

Curious. Were you plugged into shore power when the battery cooked? I hope the onboard charger is working OK!
