New owner with some questions.

Hi, I'm from Ottawa Canada, the wife and I just bought a used 2011 slx 154bh, and we should be getting it in the next couple weeks. (it needs the water heater replaced since the current owner didn't winterize the heater tank correctly)

will be pulling it with my 2012 Rav4 V6 Awd and I'm already looking forward to moding it a bit.

couple of questions:
for the axel flip, I need to know if the axel is 2 3/8inch?
are all the inside bulbs wedge type T10?

Isn't a bit premature to consider a major mod like an axle flip? Run it a year and see how it behaves first?


I wouldn't trust any published specifications on something like the axle tube diameter or even which light bulbs are currently installed.


Until you put a micrometer or caliper on the axle and measure it, you've got an x,xxx lbs rated axle that is "most probably" a certain diameter.


The bulbs will be whatever the previous owner left in there. They could be T10, 1156 or LED. If LED, they could be hardwired or use a unique connector.

In my 2014 154bh they're all wedge type T10. I replaced them with LED (10 Inside TT + 1 porch light). I also read about axle flip, after actually driving it on highway it became clear that the TT is already catching enought wind behind the minivan... Don't want it to be higher... Have fun with your new TT, so far we love ours!

the reason I want to do the flip is because my driveway is at an angle, and even just backing up my 5*10 trailer, the rear gets close to the driveway. last thing I want is to rip off the dump valve!

Ah! preserve the easy-to-break and tough-to-replace parts!

Most people do an axle flip to lower the trailer.
