New to Jayco Hummingbird

Hi folks,

I am about to pick up my Hummingbird RK this week - new to Jayko, but have spent my past four summers in a T@B that I loved, but with a new puppy, I need to have a bit more room. I do have a burning question - where is the motor located for the slide out? The dealer assures me that it is not in the seats of the dining set up - but he also told me that the grey and black water tanks had one outlet.... so just asking. It might be a deal breaker since I need to have room for a kennel so my plan was to remove the dining set up until pup was out of the chewing everything in sight stage

We live in Austin from October to May and then spend our summers volunteering in the parks in OR.

Thanks for any help!

Welcome!

Typically on smaller Jayco trailers there is no floor under the couch, so if you remove it, it might not work for what you are trying to do. Call the dealer but ask for the service dept. They should know what's there and be able to tell you where the motor is. Mine is under the couch.

BTW, it's spelled J-a-y-c-o, not J-a-c-k-o

I hope this all works out for your. Those seem like really neat little trailers.

As a 2018 17 RK owner I think you have a salesman problem. My gray and black drains are separate and the axel is between them. Also the slide motor is under the settee. Removing some of the settee is doable but I wouldn't take the back out.

It sounds like you need another trip to the dealer and a detailed walk through.

Also if you haven't already found it there is a Hummingbird Facebook group.

+1 I spent a few weeks of back and forth until "we" settled.

Agreed with Jim Davis above - look for a new salesperson and call the service department to test drive their knowledge and customer service skills - meanwhile the 17RK floor plan should allow for a kennel in the dinette space because you can move the table (and it is small and folds down).

Welcome to the Hummingbird family!
