Welcome to a great forum from East Texas (Tyler). Take it easy, stay close to home for the first couple of outings—and, have fun!

Neither of those options. Solar didn’t make sense to me when I could get an independent solar setup that can be repositioned throughout the day while the camper stays in the shade.

Will get a shot of the cargo capacity sticker later today.

Welcome, have fun! Make a list and check it twice. Maybe the big Brown truck will bring big people toys.

There'll be some warranty cards and forms in the manual packet that came with your unit. It's a good idea to fill them out and mail them back, especially if there's a recall or problem with that appliance, they'll have a record of you owning it, and notify you. There'll be places to fill out model and serial numbers. We did that with all the forms.

Welcome and congrats!

I had been away from towing and camping for many years, and even now we are going out intermittently. Towing is simple, but also can create property- and life-threatening hazards in traffic if you forget a critical step. For that reason I found it really helpful to create living checklists:

What to pack
Hitching up
Arriving at campsite
Breaking Camp (looks like Hitching up, but includes some other stuff)

You can keep them as a Google worksheet so they are accessible on your phone from anywhere. And you can print out hard copies, which makes it easy to put a checkmark next to competed items, and add new ones as you build your routine.

I got really good at arriving at camp by prioritizing connections (so the kids could get inside right away.) I have a compact 12v drill with socket for quick extensions of stabilizers. I use quick disconnects and a 2 way splitter for all water connections so once I screw on my splitter everything else snaps on.

If this is your first RV, I'd suggest poking around on YouTube to become familiar with ALL the on board systems and how they work...Watch videos on all the appliances such as water heater, furnace, fridge, etc.. Watch videos on how to keep the RV sealed properly.. Keeping the caulking in good condition is up to you and is not covered under the 2 year warranty. Become familiar with yours.. keep spare parts handy, extra fuses, water heater plugs/parts, etc, handy... keeps a dedicated set of tools handy also.. An informed owner is in general, a happier owner. You'll get the hang of it in short order.

Big congrats. Picking our 166FBS up soon and hitting the road to some warmer parts of the U.S. to play some golf. Having a brain fart. What is the exterior switch to the left of the door for?

Safe travels!!

I would try to camp near a Walmart it's a great place to pick up all the little things you need, like 3M command strips, small tool kit, paper towel holder, RV supplies. Lug wrench for the trailer your truck's more then likely will not work.

That switch just controls some bling lighting under the stair/entry.

I have the 5.0 V8 coyote engine. The first trip was 10 mpg.

How is the mattress? I have my 166FBS coming in a few weeks. Trying to decide if I should order a new mattress before the first trip.
