Ohmigosh! What a difference!

Not sure what the deal is, but I cannot get the television to play through AM/FM/CD/DVD system in our new 20MRB. I removed the stereo system from the wall and all of the wires appear to be where they should. The speakers on the Jensen remind me of a 1960s Japanese transistor radio, they sound that tinny. And, the TV ain't smart!

So after discussing the situation with SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) she allowed me to run over to Best Buy and get a new TV. As the TV is mounted in such a way that if a larger set were bought, the mounting arm & bracket would have to be moved. (No way I'm gonna do it!)

So, before she changes her mind, I am out the door and pick up a new 24 inch Samsung smart set.

Long story short, the TV is now in the place of the tinny (but more expensive) Jensen. This Samsung still will play the DVDs from the Jensen AM/FM/etc and will also play movies stored on a thumb drive and it has a built in web browser.

The Samsung speakers are so good that I no longer care if it goes through the ceiling speakers!

Anybody want to buy a new Jensen 24 inch TV?

Forgot to mention, the Samsung was just under $200.

That's good to know. We ordered ours without the t.v. because ai figured we could get a better t.v. for cheaper ourselves.

Also looking for a TV for our new TT. I recently bought a samsung for the house and I have no complaints. Did you hook it up to the 110 or did you convert to 12V?

I made our dealer throw in a TV and bracket with our deal. Now I'm wondering if I should (not) have them install it? I'm nervous about them doing it anyway, because I'm very particular and very capable.

Samsung UN24H4500 24 inch.

Samsung UN28H4500 28 inch. 28 was about $8 more.Using on 120. Didn't check power consumption but yellow sticker states it will cost $4 per year to use.

Link to Best Buy:

Amazon also has it.

I had a similar issue due to how the dealer installed my Jensen TV to the Jensen radio. I got it sorted out by connecting the AV cables from AUX 1 on the radio to AV1 on the TV.

Picture and sound from OTA happens when TV source is TV and the radio source is AUX 1 (press the AUX button to toggle between 1 and 2.

Picture and sound happens through the DVD by pressing the DVD button on the radio and changing the source on the TV via the source button on the TV remote to AV1.

Sound comes through the speakers.

Hope this helps someone.

I don't have the Insignia; but, it may be the case that you may have to toggle between the TV speakers and external speakers in the sound setup menu on your TV.

We have a 24" Toshiba in the bedroom with a built in DVD player.

Put a 39" Visio in the entertainment center. I would not normally get anything other than a Samsung, however it fit just right and has a great picture. It is not smart. A decent (Sony) Blu-ray player provides all the smarts you need. Upgrade your player, not your TV.

As far as trailer speakers are concerned, forget it.

Need to have big theatre sound and video; do it in your stick house so you don't bother the neighbors.

Followup today.

The latch on the mounting arm didn't want to latch with the Samsung. Removed the mount and compared the Samsung with the Jensen. The Jensen mounting holes stick out a bit from the TV case. I went to the hardware store and picked up four washers to use as spacers between the TV and the mount. With a little persuasion, the mount once again latches.

I too have taken out the smallish 32" Jensen Tv and have replaced with a Vizio 39" Tv. It fits the opening. Wanted a Samsung 40" but it would not fit the opening. Not wild about Vizio TV's but it was the biggest I could get to fit the space. Picture is way better than the 32" Jensen. Have a 28" sound bar below which does help on the Tv sound.
