Never used the grill, it reminded me of a cheap grill I bought that didn't work well. I brought my own Weber Q220....I can make Nachos in it..lol

New member here: We have also narrowed it down to either the 228 or x213, i think we are leaning on the x213 now that i have read some stuff on this forum. We were a little worried about inside storage as we are a family of 5. I like the shorter tow length of the x213. Thanks everyone for all of the information. GrumpyMom update us when you decide and buy your trailer!

x213 owners: if the slide is wet when put away do you need to open it back up to dry after returning home?

Usually I do, just for my peace of mind. I usually bring a small ladder with me to sweep the roof off before closing and I wash it when I get home let it dry and then close it up. I made a huge investment in it so I take all necessary actions to make it last a long time. I use DriZair for moisture control when I am storing it. I also cover the AC unit so that the leaves from the tree don't get in it when parked at home. One other thing that I added on mine was the MaxairII vent cover so that I can leave the vent open even in rain. Good luck with your decision.

X2 on the ladder. I always check the slide roof before bringing it in, If your camping under trees you will find all kinds of stuff on the roof. Always check the side windows for bugs as well, anything riding on them will end up inside as well. We also put a Maxair vent cover and use an Ac cover when the unit is stored. Remember to check your Ac Mounting bolts every spring. The first time I checked ours I found only two were attached , one was loose and one was completely out.

Don't worry about 150 lbs. Most of the towing "resistance" is due to air drag or wind. Going down the road one either feels comfortable about it or not. Trust your gut. If you feel overloaded you probably are. I tow a 11,000 lbs 39' TT with a Toyota Tundra and all is well. I don't get in a hurry and try and take it easy and I usually don't have problems and monitor closely what is going on such as equalization hitch settings, brake controller settings, tire pressures and temps, hub temps, trany temps, weather/wind etc. I drive a 80,000 truck for a living with 2 million accident free miles so I might have a slight advantage in experience. To be honest, my 39' TT is way more of a challenge to drive than my 80,000 tracker-trailer. The point is if one pays attention to what is going on then one can head off many problems.

I usually slide the picnic table over to the slideout and then use a broom to reach and sweep off the top of the slide out.

We love our Weber baby Q can you tie your into the quick connect on the trailer? I think you would have to remove the regulator off of the grill?

This thread is from over a year ago so I wonder what the original poster ended up buying! Because we've been there done that with the X213 and a 5000 pound tow capacity SUV. That lasted the trip home and cost us another 50K to get a new truck. The X213 is too much trailer for the Explorer. On top of the tongue weight issue, there is the front area consideration which is limited to 40 square feet on an Explorer with tow package. You're looking around 75 square feet front area on the X213.

We've got a Q220 and we don't tie in to the quick connect. We just detach one of the propane tanks on the front and attach it to the Q. We have the Q portable stand that collapse flat so we use that and attach the tank under the stand where there is a spot for it.
