Cool Question on awning light strip

Hi,

Just curious, how much light does the awning light strip provide? We have ordered a 2016 white hawk, Jayco has done away with the porch light. Does the awning light strip to luminate in rural areas where there is no other lighting?

Thanks,
Ozkamper

It's pretty darn bright. Definitely brighter than the standard "scare" light. Of course, it will depend on the length of the strip, but I would think even with a small awning, the light will outshine the old porch light.

Like jasoncw said It's pretty darn bright, there are threads on here to install a dimmer. We dont use it much if we have neighbors next our site, until I installl a dimmer, we have our old battery powered lanterns

They put out whole lot of light at first, but within the first 6 months or so, unless they changed suppliers, they will be so dim you will end up replacing.
I went through 4 replacement sets before my warranty expired.

The under awning light strip that came with the trailer is definitely bright. This summer (2nd) turned it on to find only random lights working down to about only 1/3. Need to replace under warranty but I keep thinking wow the light brightness is just perfect now. When replaced I will look into the dimmer that other members have mentioned.

VERY bright. After 2 years, I've noticed no appreciable degradation in the brightness. We don't use it that often because of the brightness, but I installed a dimmer so it gets used slightly more often now.

If you're doing chores outside the trailer at night, the brightness is great. If you just want some light in your site for moving around and such, they are terrible. And it's not only the brightness, it's the color. They are VERY white; not quite blue, but they look like really bright shop lights. Again, great if you are working, or hate your neighbors, not so great if you're just trying not to trip on the dog.

The led lights are bright, get a strip of window tint, med 40 percent and you can Velcro both ends and one in the middle...just like sunglasses...there is no heat to damage the film. Remember the lights are in a fixed position. So it works like sunglasses. Looks cool at night not to bright..

One of a few discussions on the mod. To my knowledge, Dustygeek was the first to do it this way, and of all the dimmer mods I've seen, this is the easiest/best method IMHO.
