Replacing lightbulbs in 184BH

I have been looking at upgrading the interior lightbulbs with LEDs. I know the stock bulbs are numbered "921" and appear to have a wedge type of base. Has anyone replaced their stock interior bulbs with LEDs. I know they will cut down on power consumption which will be the ultimate goal. I plan to do most camping at State parks. They don't have hook-ups and have been restricting the use of generators lately. If anyone has upgraded to LEDs I'd appreciate info. on what ones were purchased, where and the overall reliability and light output.

The color is pretty close to the bulb and plenty bright and none have failed in the year I've had them. MUCH cooler than the incadescent bulbs. Only problem was during the install I had a little problem getting one of them to make contact but a little fiddling and I got it sorted out. We don't boondock so I can't speak to the power consumption. I forgot to order one for the outside light but now I have plenty of spare bulbs.
Install is pretty much a snap. Select the proper pig-tail (they come with 3 choices), clean the mounting area with alcohol, stick it into the fixture and plug it in. Brainless and painless, perfect for me.

I bought the same style and really like them. I paid about half as much and they had free shipping.

I bought them from ebay seller “ouyuo2010” He seemed to have the best price, however, he would have the same unit listed multiple times at different prices, so just keep your eyes open. Watch the color temperature. If you want something that looks like traditional incandescent bulbs you need to stick with a color of about 2500-3500oK.

The only issue I had was with the supplied foam adhesive. I had heard this could happen, so I changed it to different thermal foam adhesive (found in one of our labs at work). I have heard of people using a little construction adhesive too.

I ordered mine off of eBay but because the hottie wife & I are nurses we went with the " hospital " very white light bulbs. It brings us comfort. LOL. no problems and they work like a charm !!!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I ordered them using the link posted by RedHorse1. I got them yesterday and they were installed in five minutes with no trouble. They work perfectly and provide almost they exact lighting as the original bulbs. I'm very happy with them and saved me some money. My initial plan was to but them at Camping World. If I had done that it would have cost me almost ten times what I paid through Ebay.

I have replace all 16 in my 25RKS.....The stock bulbs took me down to 10v fast when all on.....with LEDs only went to 13v....I have a 95w solar panel which keeps
voltage up....I was able to find the leds online....A little expensive at 1st but I found a site that sells 4-paks very reasonable....You will need 2 types of plugins (sockets) The lite is more white....If you need help I am at

Here are a couple of photos of the 36 LED panels I just installed in my JayFlight.
These (10 pack) came from eBay vendor 2011_led. Stats are: 36-1210SMD; 3000K-3500K; 200 Lumen.

Threebutchers- That's a great price for the 48 LED panels. Mine came out to ~3.60 each and I already got enough to do the whole camper... Oh well...

You can try www.superbrightleds.com. All bulbs are changed to LED. Brights and less draw.

I replaced all my lights with LEDS including the porch light. I bought them on ebayfor $3.20 each. I would advise putting a dab of silicone on each corner as the self stick tape turns loose after a while. What an improvement!!!

What a great thread! My wife doesn't like to leave any of the lights on because of how hot they get. We never boon dock but when we turn on the main set of ceiling lights the convertor fan runs on high and its annoying.

This is a great thread. I just ordered 12 48 LED panels off of Ebay at $2.39 each. I am sure glad I did not purchase the LED lights I was looking at last year that were nearly $12 each! Having low ceilings in the 184bh, I have noticed the heat from the incandescent bulbs probably more than one would in an average ceiling height trailer. I am looking forward to getting these.

Please would you post a link to the Ebay listing? I have been making a slow (because of cost) switch from CFLs to LEDs in the house, but didn't know that this 12v stuff was available at these prices. Thanks to everyone for this thread, I have owned a 184bh for almost two years now, and plan to post my experiences to help others with problems.

Found your seller on Ebay.com (your link is Ebay.ca) and put it in my wish list. At that price, I'll probably upgrade all of my lights eventually, including my car and truck dome lights. I couldn't wait, so I purchased these from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and paid over $6 each for three, getting them tomorrow from Prime shipping and will also post my results once they're installed.

Haven't had time to install my LEDs yet, but I just plugged one into a landscaping light that I installed as a ceiling light for my back porch. The ones I ordered from Amazon are much brighter than I expected for only 24 LEDs. Turns out that they are described as "5050 SMD", meaning that each individual LED on the panel is 5.0mm by 5.0mm. Many Ebay panels I've seen are "3028 SMD", so each LED is 3.0mm by 2.8mm. As I understand it, the 24 LED 5050 SMD panel is (in theory) about 1 1/2 times brighter than a 48 LED 3028 SMD panel...something to consider when buying. The wife is unsure of the cool white color of the ones I've bought, so we may go with warm white LEDs, and unless the 5050 SMD panels can be found much cheaper than those I've just purchased, I'll be getting the rest of them from Ebay and waiting for shipment from overseas.
