Roof weight capacity

Does anybody know what the weight capacity of the featherlite TT is? I recently installed a backup camera and wiring. I did it all from a step ladder but it got me thinking. There's an air conditioner up there and several vents and an antenna. I'm sure they were installed somehow. I weigh 300 lbs and am wondering if the roof will support my weight if I ever need to service the AC or anything else. Anybody got any experience with having to climb on top

what year is the trailer ... if you watch the piece on their magnum truss system I would say yes but I usually walk gingerly when I am on mine just to be safe

I was on the roof of our X23B many times with no issues. 220#. Part of the warranty is inspecting the roof and associated caulking.

Its an 08 165BH. Gel coat looks great no cracks and there are no leaks anywhere. While installing the camera I noticed the roof coating was peeling off. Looks like an aftermarket rubber/paint on type product. Thinking I might have to redo it this summer. I can reach most of the roof from a ladder but not right in the middle. Doing around the AC and vents will require me to get on the roof to properly coat everything. I'm 6'5" and every bit of 300#. I figure its got some structural integrity to hold the 15k BTU AC unit.

That's a pretty impressive video. But since it was made in 2012 I guess I need to find out if this is my roof on an 08 model.

If you have concerns , lay down a 2x6 and walk across to help distribute weight

After doing some research I do not have the magnum truss roof. I have a one piece rubber roof coating 3/8 plywood on an aluminum frame. Can't find a weight load for it, but it does have a 12 year warranty. Still got a few years left on that. I think when it comes time I'll throw a piece of 5/8 plywood on top just to be safe. I would still like to know the load capacity.

I wrote Jayco about this very question last Fall. I am 350#
I also asked about what appeared to be stretched roof membrane in that there is a bubble of material that runs the length on one side. I don't know how else to describe it.

This is the response.
Quote:
Jayco doesn’t have a weight rating for the roof, therefore we advise the customers to use caution when accessing the roof and if need be use a sheet of plywood to spread the weight of an individual on the roof. It is common to have extra or what appears to be extra roof material on the edges with an occasional bubble or wrinkle. We suggest the customers typically this is nothing to be concerned about though should keep an eye on the wrinkle or bubble.
Lucky for me, My wife has volunteered to go up on the roof. I am just too afraid of going through the roof, even with a piece of plywood.

I guess I have my answer. But ain't no way my wife is volunteering to climb anything. So I guess I'm stuck with a sheet of plywood. Thank you for this info.

You are Welcome. Indeed, I am lucky she went up for sure cause like you, I can only do so much from the perimeter on a ladder.

I never had a problem at 220#. As long as the plywood over the trusses is still good, the weight is distributed over several trusses. Since many TTs have roof ladders, they are figuring you're going to be up there at least once a season or more if you cover it in the fall
