Pretty easy, I would estimate about 3 to 4 hours - took a break in the middle to watch football, so I'm not sure. The length needed with the Solera (chosen because it is an easier install than the cheaper Carefree) is 7 ft 6 inches, and it would have been nice to have someone holding the end when it was inserted, but otherwise it is a one-person job. I followed the advice from Lippert to silicone spray the rail, and that meant I only had to hold the thing up for less than a minute while getting it started, then it pushed in like a hot knife through butter.

One of those Jayco things: I properly centered the ends in the brackets, and found that in the rail one end was at the end, and the other was more than an inch in. I thought I did something wrong, until I took a better look and saw that the rail itself was installed 1+ inches back from centered!

Did you have to screw into the side at all or is it all slide in and lock bolt type thing?

You have to screw a plate into the slide in each upper corner. 5 screws each, and I put butyl putty behind the whole plate. After that, the fabric slides into the preinstalled rail, then there are pieces that slide over both the plates and into which the arms slide.

If I'm seeing this correctly, its screwed into the slide flange not into the walls. Is that right?

No. While one option is to install on flange if the railing it too high, in our case it would make the fabric slope into the trailer. I've blown up the photo below; the red line is where the piece is screwed in - Lippert calls it an "access plate" while the blue line outlines the "bracket." You can see a bit of the putty pushed out to the left of the plate. It won't go tightly against the left flange because of the protrusion of the flange corner. Something that Lippert points out in their instructions as not to be worried about.

The bracket is held to the access plate by two set screws, hidden behind the cosmetic cover. Note that just about any online manual or video will show a hexagonal rod going into the bracket, but Lippert has changed that into bar stock with rounded edges and a matched slot in the bracket.

This is an image from Lippert's facebook page showing the new bar better than my photo. Interesting that they left the advertisement off the cover plate!

The model is Solera 5000. Length is 7 ft 6 inches, with 7 ft 1 inch fabric. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PXL7Z0O https://store.lci1.com/slide-topper-...-slide-top-awn
