My WH is still on warranty the floor was supposed to be fixed last week but the dealer was super busy and I agree to postpone the work for a few weeks.

The procedure attached is what they will do, Im not sure how the job will come out.....looks like a disaster waiting to happen.....would you take your chance and living with a soft floor and a bad seam or would you take your chance to have it fixed ? whats would you do ?

Nope so far they have followed Jayco's instruction. They are not redoing the entire floor but only where the floor was really soft.

its about 3x3 where a seam was splitting in the subfloor. Ill go tomorrow or friday to see it , if i am not happy ill demand for a new vinyl flooring.

story short they removed the vinyl, the first luan sheet, than the foam, they cut the styrofoam in smaller section to accomodate some bracing to be welded to the cross member we see at the top and bottom of the pictures.

Well , I was worry for nothing I guess 🙂

My dealership service dept. once again impressed me. As shown on the picture they completed the job with the patch very well done level and sqeak free.

I was kind of worry about the vinyl job, however they've ordered some vinyl flooring to cover from the washroom door to the bedroom door and to have it professionnaly installed, so the main floor in the trailer , at the worst ill end up with two small transition molding .

if Jayco cannot supply the same flooring they agreed to have it completely replaced and to have it done locally by a contractor.

Despite all the problem I had with this trailer I cannot stress enough the full cooperation and support from my dealer and from Jayco,

Where do you think that I will buy my next trailer ? 😜

Ill also get a Jayco , however not because of their outstanding quality and quality control 🙄 but because they stand by their product and warranty.😀

Picture of the finished product to come

I had a soft spot in my floor from my entrance door to the bathroom (x213).

I crawled under and and added 1/2" plywood and some 2x4 cross members. I used PL construction adhesive between the existing floor and the plywood.

I then sprayed everything with asphalt undercoating.

The floor is solid as a rock.

Quantum,

My problem was not really because of the lack of support below. it was more because of the top layer of that sandwich floor.

Imagine a seam , and you applying pressure on the very edge of it. With a normal plywood floor tongue and groved you would have tranfered and shared all that pressure at the tongue and groove point and if you are lucky .. to a cross member below , however on my problem the bottom luan was supported ok, its the top luan that was digging into the foam , and so on both side of that seam note that there is no tongue and groove there.

At the end we could see for the lenght of that seam the floor ( top luan ) moving down enough in the styrofoam to stretch the vinyl floor almost to the point of rupture or cracking. .Adding your repair in my case would have serve no purpose, however for a plywood floor per exemple its a great repair

Well. we finnaly could take a look at the final repair done to our floor. I am totally satisfied, my dealership have done a great job, the floor is now solid no more seam popping out I am really please. They replaced the vinyl in the main section of the trailer, all I have is small moulding at the bottom of the walls and furniture and 2 transition moulding for the main section of the trailer to the bedroom and washroom , all in all I was worry for nothing...again Thanks Jayco, thanks Roulottes Desjardins !!

They said the whole floor front to back was replaced with tg plywood said they were having too many issues with the other. We have the new style vinyl throughout and a solid floor now.

Kingcobb was that 6 weeks include the time to ship back and forth? We are retired and are in florida this winter and when we get home have trips with grandkids planned hate to be without it for so long. Does the new floor look good? Around edges? Did you have to empty trailer completely out? Thanks for posting

Sharonkay yes shipping included. We started talking with Jayco in November and set a pickup date and agreed to a 6-8 week timeframe. The flooring looks good and is a darker than the original which my wife likes. They called us before installing the new vinyl and asked if we would like carpet in the bedroom instead but we declined. They put a small quarter round molding around the edges which my wife likes also. The only thing I don't like is where they removed the interior walls they put a clear caulk on the door moldings when reinstalling them. Yes we completely emptied it out. Any other issues you have can be taken care of there also.
