Do you have the factory tow package?

What trim level?

Might want to do some reading/posting here:

Towing capacity around 3500 lbs when equipped with a tow package and a Payload capacity around 1000 lbs

Tongue weigh of the 184 BH is only 300 lbs, leaving 700 lbs for gear and passengers, but the trailer GVWR is 3500 lbs.

With a towing package the sante fe has a 3500 lb towing capacity.

At the maximum like that, it will tear up your transmission pretty quickly.

That's too close for my comfort.

about the same size/weight/power as my rav4 v6.

I pull a 154bh with no problems at all, I'm just careful about weight when I load it up.

I also installed a transmission oil cooler since heat is what kills transmissions.

I tow with 2 vehicles.

1) Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (2008)
2) 2014 Hyundai Santa fe (2014)

My Jeep Wrangler has a 3500 pound towing capacity. It tows my camper fantastically! Ive towed over the rockies at 11000 on I-70 and towed all around Lake Michigan, and all over the Ozarks. No problems at all!

My 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe has a 5000 towing capacity. It also tows really well, but has a softer set of springs in the back. It could use a set of airbags. Power wise, it has power to spare and doesn't even know the camper is there.
