Sticky sliding windows
On our first trip of the season, my windows stick when we are opening them. Trailer is level, everything appears plumb etc. Does anybody have this problem/ recommend a lube for the slides? I don't want to gum up the works with the wrong lube.

A dry lube won't attract more grit. I've used silicone which works ok. I think it has to do with the manufacturing tolerances. Some are tight and others not. I replaced a window in the HTT, old one was tight, replacement was real easy to open/close.

Like RedHorse1 said, dry lube. I use a bicycle chain dry lube and it works fantastic. No residue and no dirt collecting.

Mine were really stiff and I let the dealer know and they adjusted the frames under warranty.

Any idea what they did? Can you tell if they removed them to work on 'em? Several of ours are too. Love to find a perm fix.

X2! The big window in slide, even with silicone after 3 seasons still sticks really bad.

I am not sure what they did and there was no evidence to indicate. The only thing they said is they adjusted the frame of the window.

They probably removed some screws, let the frame re level, and moved the screws a little. I doubt that most slide outs are level, when extended, thus binding their windows. Some get slide jacks to level, but use care with them.

I've had that thought but don't think that's it. It's always the same windows that are tough to move and some are in our slides and others not. When I replaced a window (in the X23B) the new one was very easy to move, not so with the old one.
Been pondering what I could do to the window to loosen it up a bit and all can come up with so far is maybe stretch the frame a bit, maybe with some 1x2 pieces and wedges. Prolly have to loosen the screws holding it in place. But just can't convince myself it's a good idea.
Just dunno. Hoping someone will chime in with, "hey, it's easy. All you gotta do is.....".

Yeah, I go that route. It makes them slide with less effort but they're still tight.
It sounds like the dealer "fixed" Brett's windows. Tribal knowledge.
