Surge brakes 2008 197

I purchased a 2008 197 this fall. It has surge brakes. I'm planning on changing it to electric, has any one had experience with this? Does anyone else have a tt with surge brakes? It seems kind of unusual to me. Thanks.

Have you looked on Youtube? I seen a video on installing E-brakes. Looks fairly straight forward. Go to YouTube and search Electric brakes on Travel Trailer. Best regards, Doug

That video is what made me decide to do it myself. The only problem is...it seems way too easy. I used the Etrailer videos to wire the entire brake control package in my truck which turned out to be a bit difficult, but I'm cheap and it saved me some money. For the electric brakes if its as easy as it looks it should save me about $1500. Probably cost me some blood and sweat. I emailed Etrailer to ask some questions and they responded right away. So far I have a good impression of the folks there. Thanks for the reply!
