3 1/2" x 1 1/2" C channel. the metal is thinner/lighter than those of larger trailers. I was told this + stress a WDH may put on the trailer could cause the frame to bend at the tounge over time and is not reccomended.

Just got our 184BH in June. Dealer recommended and installed a sway bar, but said WDH not necessary.

Well I went and ordered a say control bar from Princess Auto http://www.princessauto.com/pal/prod...ontrol-Bar-Kit. It looks like a rebranded curt. It was on sale for 34.99. The ball mount plate looks to be the right size. Thanks every one for the help. I will feel better when I have the say control install. I hit realy bad wind on our last trip and it got a bit crazy.

thats a good price. I was terrified to be passed by a 18 wheeler for the first time but I had my sway bar and didnt phase me (or the trailer) one bit. just dont forget to remove it before backing as im sure you already know.

I've got WD's and one sway bar on y 184bh installed from the dealer and also recommended.

I'm leaving for holidays on sunday and will take pics of my setup and post them here.

Thanks,
Pat

I have been looking at the same single bar type and always have to wonder how much turn angle this thing will tolerate. Obviously you couldn't jack knife the trailer but do you have to unhook to back into a slot with a 45 degree kink? How gutsy can I get before getting out and taking the thing loose? Thanks. Leo

You remove sway bar before backing.

How about going forward, say into a gas station or into a pull through for that matter? Thanks, Leo

thats fine, its just the typical backing up usually includes sharp turns to get into a site etc thats why you want to remove it. if you bottom out the bar on a turn you will damage it, your hitch and possibly TT frame

I put mine on today. All at once I tried out my Sway bar, new brake controller, new 7 pin wiring, and OBDii tuner. All was well. I was pleased with the sway bar, but I'll only be using it on the highways. Doesn't seem nessesay in town, and could actually hurt the camper frame is tweaked too hard.
