Swift axel recall, are you kidding me?

As you may recall, our tt was the one that started the recall for the swift hub issues. Finally, we were assured by our dealer weeks ago that our tt was repaired and safe.Upon receiving our recall notice from Jayco I called the dealer to confirm that the parts installed in our tt were indeed the correct parts required by Jayco, and I requested written verification that the work done complied with the recall notice. SURPRISE!!!, upon further review the parts installed by the dealer[hubs] are still not the correct parts. They have now ordered the recall kit from JAYCO, and out tt is scheduled for repair this week. We continue to use this dealer[ Manteca trailer sales, Manteca, Ca.] only because of the tt warranty. Once the warranty is over we will never do business there again......Happy camping!

I sure agree with that and have moved on from our dealer also.

My dealer called me many many times regarding "recall"; leaving messages that this was a big big deal and that I better not use TT until "repairs" were made. When I returned the call, I mentioned that Jayco never notified me; he seemed amazed at that. I gave him the particulars of our trailer and he said the service mgr would get back with us. He never did. My conclusion is they were just trying to drum up business for a slow week.

Bayleightucker,

First off, I am sorry you have had to deal with this axle concern for so long.

We too have purchased our TT in Manteca. The sales experience was good and fortunately we haven't required any service in year 1. However I do now have a small punch list of minor warranty issuses I plan to have addressed next week. I'm interested to see what our service experience is compared to yours. I will say the wait we had to endure with service during out initial TT delivery/Pick-up doesn't make me feel that they are focused on doing things quickly :-(

My real question, have you looked into alternative locations for service? If so where?

The other Jayco dealer close to me is Fresno, and based on trying to purchasing a TT from them originally (which what pushed me to Manteca) was not a pleasant experience.
