So went to see her today, salesperson was busy, service guy took me over to his boss, I explained I had gotten the call it was in. He got huge smile on his face oh that's the new one, yeah everybody wants to see what she looks like. Go ahead, she's a bit of a mess inside, but take a look. It is all that I expected, although I thought my television was bigger, but anyway, looks nice, and once it gets cleaned up will look that much nicer. Now the wife is out of work for the day and on the way to see the new addition, I think we are all going to be very happy. She'll come home Friday, and Sunday I'll be playing around with her and our supplies. Just sucks that I have to go in Saturday and can't play.

Looks awesome. I love the backsplash and the new window valances. Also like the grey strip along the bottom and black fenders. I have too laugh, I think you may be even more excited than I was waiting for our trailer.....I didn't think that was possible. Lol. I think my salesman was glad to be rid of me by the end. Oh well I have been that way since I was a little boy and I still am, nothing I can do its just how I roll!!

Very nice color and change to the interior of the new model. One other thing i like is how much better it looks without all the dealership decals. Not much we can do about that I guess. They put one on all four sides of mine.

It's called a heat gun and a cold beer. 1st mod I made on mine was to remove all the dealer stickers (unless they want to make monthly payments to me for advertising for them they come off) I also removed a few other stickers like the ones telling me were the city water connection is, fresh water fill, etc. looks much better. :hihi:

Isuduke, congrats on the new trailer. I went thru the same feelings a year ago when we got our new jay feather. I'm still excited about it. Did you notice how nice they tow? I like the new changes they made to them. Would like to do a backsplash like yours, and definitely like the black fenders. Have you thought of the mods you will do? Vent covers was the first for ours. ( put 303 protectant on the plastic exterior fixtures) the sun will destroy them if you don't. The screen door cross bar was next and one of the best. Good towing mirrors are important. Cipa makes a cheap Mckeech knock off. I bought used ones. Working on shelves now and looking for a digital tstat replacement. Have one in mind but haven't seen one in a store yet. Enjoy your new trailer and have a great summer.

Thanks for all the kind words, yeah we are all pretty excited. As far as interior changes go, pretty happy with most, not a huge fan of the backsplash, but don't hate it either. I'll have plenty more pics up after she gets home. I got there 4 hours after it arrived and it was in a state of chaos. If you notice the tank cover is in the bed, the empty tv box is on the bed as well, no power, very dark. My wife called later and asked if it was ok to stop and look, the sales manager met her at the door, and escorted her to the service bay it was being prepped in. Two hours made a huge difference, she said they powered it up, so all the lights were on, had the furnace up and running, so she was able to get in and going all the way thru it. Service guy was in it when she got there, he got out to let her look around, told her that he hasn't been able to get anything done, since it is the first 2013 on the lot, everyone is coming to see it.
I'm sure there will be some decals added to advertise the dealership, they will come off.
Murphie it's still at the dealership, pick up Friday night so no idea on how it tows. Thanks for the tip on the protectant, I'll have to get some of that stuff. Tow mirrors, I looked into for a quick minute, but didn't find anything compatible with T.V. now can look aggressively need a trip to camping world to see what I can find, hadn't made the time to do that, maybe tomorrow so the waiting to get it doesn't kill me. Lol.

So here we are t-minus 16 hrs and counting, just got home from work. Anyway looking forward to tomorrow, charged the camcorder to get all the info for review at a later point. Put the hitch onto the Outlook for tomorrows tow, getting my end ready. Yet again the dealership calls my wife, yeah the paperwork you signed yesterday isn't right, you'll need to resign tomorrow. Awesome the whole reason I went out Tuesday at the request of the owner was to avoid this, then they call again 30 min later now its the salesman, hey trailers all done, but we don't have your insurance info. We need it to let you leave tomorrow, wife says check your paperwork, our people called and left a message for you so they could get info I didn't have. Nope not here, oops wait a minute here's a note I have to call to oooh sorry, I'll call them so I can get them the info so we are all set. Really, if they do this to every sale how do they stay in business. I really can't say i'd ever go there again, I don't trust them to do the right thing or even know the difference from right and wrong. I only hope the owner doesn't show up tomorrow, because I just want to get my pdi and get my trailer out of there. If he comes by all smiles and look what I did, I'm gonna have to tell him about this latest round of stupidity. It started again as soon as he handed the order over to his underlings, the finance guy calls me and tells me he wants to do the paperwork for my 2012 trailer, I said I don't have a 2012, its a 2013, if you'd like to do some paperwork for that I'm good. The same guy mucks up the loan paperwork that I now have to fix.. then not checking his voicemail to get the info he needs to close a deal. If he has nine more deals to go thru this weekend as the service guys told me its gonna be along weekend for alot of people.

As far as mods, not looking at any right away, planned it that way, got what I wanted in the trailer to start, have a ton of camping stuff to move into it and from there will make a list and see what we need. After the first few trips we will see what works and what could work better and plan from there. But being a noob to the trailer scene I wanted a turn key, easy start with the items I knew I wanted. The plan was to buy a large enough trailer to grow with the family and not need to be upgraded at any time in the near future, due to lack of ability or comfort, yet still be towable with the vehicles I already own. The 228 does that for us and I'm confident it will for the life of the trailer.

Isuduke I am laughing as well, and not at you either. These RV dealers are all the same I think, they succeed despite themselves and only because they have something we want. If a car dealership operated like that they would have their dealership pulled right out from under them by Ford or Toyota or whoever. I think the manufactures need to do what the car manufactures do and send surveys out to customers buying and getting service work done and if a dealership scores low they loose year end rebates or their discount decreases. I can guarantee they would be more concerned about customer service. A few more hours and they will be a distant memory in your rear view mirror as you pull away with the new addition. Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks guys, Yes it will be a memory in a few short hours , distant not so much, but a memory none the less. It just amazes me the way some companies treat their customers, I have always worked for companies that preach the customer comes first and customers are the reason you are in business, and the customer is always right. I learned from some great people how to handle customers with respect and dignity, now it has become how fast can I get the money in. Sounds like the 2 of you had issues with your dealer as well, but I see a bunch of positive comments on dealers as well, I guess it's like a good mechanic, if you find one, stay with them. I'm done ranting for the day, only happy thoughts from here out. :hihi::hihi::hihi:

Ok boys and girls its a done deal, we did our walk , signed the papers and towed her all around town to show her off. Parked and unhooked last night at 9pm, got home at 10 went to bed exhausted and had to work this morning. Just about ready to head back over and get some things stored and packed in it and spend the night, It's our son's birthday today and his wish was to sleep in the camper tonight so that is the plan, I hope to be putting up some more pics in the next few days. Tomorrow will be busy taking son to lunch then Indy 500 and Coke 600 tomorrow, can't miss the races. Maybe Monday I'll have some time to post.

She's home

Got her Friday as planned, all went well at PDI and we were gone in less than 2 hrs. Spent Saturday night in the trailer, basic power and water hookups in the back yard, all systems ran perfectly. Made our lists and checked them twice and spent most of Sunday running around buying supplies. Found a ton of great deals at the Christmas tree shoppes of all places, plates, bowls wine glasses, some utensils. Going to spend some time tomorrow filling in all the new stuff and prepping for the maiden voyage. . Enjoy the weekend. Will post pics soon..

Have fun getting her all setup! Myself I am somewhat of a clean/organizational freak so I found a lot of reward in finding ways to organize everything or finding bins to fit cabinets to ensure everything is in its place. I hate wasting time trying to find things that you cannot remember where you put them. I think I read some where you were also looking for tow mirrors. When we bought the trailer we also bought a set of Milenco Aero 2 towing mirrors ( www.milenco.com )From the RV dealer. Was a little Leary at first as they clamp onto the plastic mirror housing but we have a couple hundred kilometers on our's now and no problems/fly away mirrors. Pretty stable as well. If you are still looking for a set have a look at them. Congrats again! Ryan.

Working on more pics, system doesn't like my wife's camera pics, I'll see what I can do. Enjoying everything so far, no issues, few nicks and dings on some panels and some caulking that I took care of today. Will post more pics when I can.
