Thermostat

My furnace won't fire...nothing. No fan. Have propane to stove. Checked fuses...The only thing I see on the thermostat is a little plastic "off" switch on top that doesn't seem to move. It appears to be in the off position. The temp. slide works fine but what is this little off switch on the thermostat? I don't want to break it.

Turn the switch to on. It shouldn't break. The one in my old pup was hard to switch too.

Got it. That's a funky little switch. I thought for sure I would snap it off. Thanks much!

They beat me to it George. I had the same problem. I thought it would break and the service guy made it move and now I can switch it off and on. Like you said you think the stupid thing is going to break. The next thing to watch for is that as the manufacturing oils (if not already burned off) will cause the smoke alarm to go off. What I dod was to open all the windows and vents turned the furnace up and let the alarm do it's thing until it stopped and noW I have a functioning heater. Have you made your trip to the coast?talk again soon.
