Tire Size

I have a 2017 Jayco 27DSRL and the tires are 14's. Question is would it be worth moving upto 15's?

What don't you like about the 14" tires? Have you had any issues?

You can upgrade your 14 inch tires. I went from Load C to Load D by going from the Jayco OEM Ranier tires to Goodyear Endurance.

I too would ask what is wrong with the 14's? If you change to 15's, you may affect your WDH, and it may need adjusting. If you need/want a little more clearance, that is a different story.

Personally, my first choice would be to upgrade your load rating when selecting tires. On my 13's, I upgraded to load D from C.

Was told by a friend that 15's would be better for overall handling? Sounds like bad advice?

you change the geometry it might be better it might be worse... make sure the new diameter will fit within your trailer wheel wells and you need to get new rims that match the bolt pattern of your hub.. I would highly doubt you would know the difference between a 14" tire and a 15" tire..

save your money and put on a good set of tires that meet or exceed your trailer weight rating and use the extra money and time for beer and relaxing...follow ifallsguys advice

If you can identify a specific issue with your current setup, it MIGHT not be bad advice. But it's always helpful to know what problem you are trying to solve before you start buying things.

How does your trailer tow right now? How heavy is it and what is the load rating and size of your current tires?

For clarification even if you put on higher rated tires it does not allow you to exceed the GVRW of the trailer...

i'm having no specific issue, brother in law bought a flagstaff trailer which has 15" and he thinks 15" would be better.
MY whitehawk GVWR is about 6300 and no issues. i posted the question to find out what everyones feelings are. I found my answer and brother in law does not know what he is talking about.

Maybe your brother in law wants to be able to "borrow" your tires at some point.

Dave
I have a 2016 27DSRL and went to Goodyear Endurance LR D 205/75/14 tires. It makes all the difference in the world in the towing experience. Rated to 81 instead of 60 mph (although I do not tow over 60 to 65mph), and an unexpected benefit was more stable (less bounce) when parked and in use.

I can't see the 15 inch wheel making that much difference and as already stated may change the whole dynamic of your rig.
