Important to manage your tool kid and be honest with yourself about what it will be used for. Unless you expect to replace the ball joints in your TV or spot weld something onto the frame while traveling, just take the basics and look for multi use tools. Examples are the multi screw drivers with nut driver and large small driver heads in both reg and philups. A couple good cresent wrenches small and medium. multi electric tester, you get the picture. Its the stuff you'll need to tighten stuff, replace a broken hinge or repair a loose electrical connection.

Just went thru my tool box [last time was 2 years ago] and sorted to make sure I had all the smaller size sae and metric wrenches up to 9/16, amazing how things duplicate and also walk away over time. Black tape, G-tape, a small socket set, etc. Not worried about weight but more that I can find what I need without digging thru 3 1/2" wrenches, 6 screwdrivers, and 2 hammers.

I always have a small 12v compressor, a set of jump cables or jump box, and a battery charger. You will end up with more than you can fit after a few trips out. Things get added and rarely purged. The occasional spring cleaning or pre major trip cleanout is a useful thing. Even if you don't purge much, it reminds you what you have and where it is.

I don't think I could limit myself to 5 tools.
I have a craftsman set with sockets, wrenches and screwdriver bits.
Another socket set.
Adjustable wrench.
Channel locks.
Multi meter
Claw Hammer
18v cordless drill and light with charger and socket for stabilizers
3 ton floor jack
Needlenose pliers
Lineman's pliers
Always a few good knives, folding and otherwise
4 way lug wrench
Elec tape and duct tape
wd40
2-9mm with extra magazines for each

It's not all in front of me right now so I'm sure I forgot something.

I like a lot of your list, but the last item is a bit surprising. Depending on where you travel, that can get you in a boatload of trouble - especially in crazy places like New York and New Jersey. Alas, unless I'm staying entirely in PA, I've decided that my own similar items are staying behind.

I can think of no reason I'd ever want to go to New Jersey or New York.

My permits are good everywhere I go.
