Trying to Stabilize 2015 27 DSRL

Shortly after buying my 2015 27 DSRL last April I noticed that the rear stabilizer jacks didn't reach the ground when it was parked on a slight incline. I replaced the stock 24" rear jacks with 30" jacks. This didn't seem to help much because they had a lot of flexing in them when extended, so I cut some 4x6 posts into blocks to shorten the extension. This didn't help either. Just before the last trip I purchased a pair of slide out jacks to use under the frame in the rear of the trailer. This helped a little but I still noticed a lot of movement from the trailer rocking front to back when someone was waking around. Now I'm looking at new wheel chocks. Before I invest another $100, has anyone found a way to stabilize this trailer and if so, how? Thanks for any information or suggestions.

I've found that a set of X-chocks between the tires reduced my TT movement. I install/adjust the x-chocks after the TT is leveled.

Note: X-chocks do not take the place of tire blocks.

Also, I set the rear stabilizers first, then set the front TT stabilizers making sure that I don't remove weight off the tongue jack. After extending my slide(s) I re-check the stabilizers.

Thanks Bob. I have a pair of them that I used on my old trailer, but they won't reach between the wheels of the new trailer because the axels are too far apart. The bigger version are a lot more expensive and I wasn't sure if it would work as well as the smaller version. I was, however, looking at this: https://www.amazon.com/Fastway-84-00...QF5JQW0N93679C

Jeff,

I think you will find the X-chocks with 4-point surface contact much more effective at controlling rotational movement then the Amazon product you referenced.

I use a couple of wood 4"x4" that are about 8"-10" long (I cut a 1" chamfer along the edge that's in contact with the tires) placed on the ground acting as tire stops...., but my 4-point BAL X-chocks do the real work in reducing TT movement created by occupants.

I use the X-chock for the wide stance (I have the same Tt as you) and also some wood blocks and my trailer stays pretty stable now....

Yes I do use two....I had to buy these because I had a regular ones on my trade in and they did not work for my Jayco....

Thanks to all that responded with suggestions based on their experiences. I think I'll spring for a pair of x-chocks extended and hope that solves the problem. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share their recommendations with me.

I use X-Chocks and they do a GREAT job of almost elimination lateral movement (not all but most). My wife would complain of the trailer rocking when I get up early to fix coffee and she is trying to sleep in. X-Chocks solved the problem.
