Use Outside Gas Stove
I'm trying to think of everything I'm going to want in my new camper so I'm loading it up with various "camping stuff". Anyone find that they need an outside gas stove like the old Coleman?

We keep a coleman stove and Weber Q200 in the TT. Certain things we prefer cooking outside away from the trailer. Plus we often camp with 2 other families and create a communal kitchen to prepare all meals. Each of our stoves a bbq get quite a bit of work on those trips.

We keep our Coleman for sentimental and practical reasons. It belonged to my Dad and he's been gone 11 years. That stove has 20+ years of camping memories and is in very good condition. We prefer to cook outside and while we have a full size bbq (we're in a seasonal spot all summer) there's sometimes that I need just one little or one extra burner.

We have one of the small gas grill that clips to the side of our trailer. It is the best accessory I bought. Kids can run around outside while I'm cooking and I can still keep an eye on them.

we always cook outside so the coleman is a must for us and always stays packed. we have the 3 burner coleman and also the 1 burner for late at night making drinks.

I primarily cook outside, I would estimate we have cooked less than 5 times inside in the last two years. Part of the issue is I do not want the mess from cooking inside, nor the heat. I do not like cleaning and one of my jobs at home is to clean the HTT. When we are out camping as I want to be outside, so I cook outside too. It is also very rare that I setup under the awning too.
We carry both a propane grill and a propane stove. I have a small portable propane tank (11#, I would prefer a 7#) we use with a manifold so we can run multiple items at the same time. Works great for us. I just setup and the end of the picnic table.

I always cook outside on a Coleman stove. Much easier and more room. Usually it is just me camping so I can cook something quick and easy on it. No smell or mess in the camper.

I've often picked up my propane burner (the small one we use to use for tent camping, not the big 2-burner one) and thought about putting it in the trailer, but have not actually done it. Anything we cook that smells usually goes on the Weber outside. We cook coffee and noodles inside, so I never saw the point in carrying the extra stove or burner. Besides, if we cooked outside, we would have to transport all the components outside as well, inside everything is conveniently at hand.
We cook most of our meals when we're out, DW does the "inside" cooking, and I do the "outside" cooking. So when the little one gets here and becomes mobile, he/she will be well covered inside or out.
It will probably eventually end up in the trailer because I can see that sometimes it would be nice for everyone to be outside cooking together...

We have the outside grill that hooks up to our unit in the rear. I also carry another stainless steel tabletop grill and an electric family size griddle as well as an electric two burrner stove top like the coleman. I am covered for cooking. The wife hardly ever cooks inside as long as weather permitting. We use the inside kitchen stove very infrequently. In fact, I am beginning to wonder why we even have a kitchen in our house! It hardly gets used either! lol

I carry two Coleman propane stoves. DW will do prep and cutting inside, and I finish everything on the outside from boiling to frying. I am not a fan of attaching the stove to the side of the camper, so I just use the Coleman. I just fold the table cover back, and after they cool, I just put the table cloth over them, and use the clips to keep it secure. That keeps my stoves out of the weather, and ready to go in the morning for the percolator, and bacon and eggs.

I have a Weber Q220 which I hook up to a 5 lb (1.2 gal) tank. Keep it set up on picknic table at campsite. If it gets used up I use one of the 20 lb tanks off the trailer. I also carry a 40 year old Coleman gasoline lantern, which gets a lot of use since we like to eat late. It stands on one end of the Q220, or on a stack of wood blocks to illuminate the grill.
