"Used" 2013 Jay Feather X213
I am very close to buying a "used" 2013 Jay Feather X213 and am VERY excited! However I dont know what a fair asking price is for the unit. The dealer is asking 19,995. This will be my first trailer purchase and being on a military budget, I just want to make sure I do the best I can. Thanks anyone and everyone for the help. Cant wait to be camping soon!

I would compare with NADA depending on what options/upgrades it may have. Just a quick lookup for me shows that with average options, the average going price is $20,130.
There may be a bit of wiggle room for the dealer. Check out on-line average prices for that camper. If you find a lower price, that is close to you, print it out and take it to the dealer. On used campers, there is room. (I work at a dealership.. used inventory is where the money is made). If they wont budge, DON'T BE AFRAID TO WALK AWAY and go someplace else for a better price. This business is about customer service. If they wont work with you on the sale, what makes you think they will work with you if you need service? Unless you are by me, then come in and I will get you coffee and donuts for your service!

$20k sounds a bit high for a used 2013, but then it also depends on what part of the country you are in. I would suggest going to nadaguides.com (similar to KBB) and look at suggested values in your area. When using NADA, only select options which are add on options that do not come standard for your model. Example, if your TT comes with a furnace as standard, then you would not select that. The other thought is to take a look on RVTRADER.com. From just a quick scan on RVTRADER, I see a number of x213 2014's in the $22k range (again, depends on your area).
Hope this helps. Thanks for your service!

The MSRP on Jayco`s build and price site for a NEW 2014 with every option in this region is 24993. Many dealers offer substantial discounts to MSRP, 25-30% being a good deal. Considering that you should be able to get a new one close to what he is asking for that one, or get him to come down some in price. As mentioned where you live is a big factor, units on the west coast and Canada can be significantly more expensive due to freight, taxes and duties so that must be factored in. The least expensive region seems to be the midwest, close to the plants where they are made.

If the dealer is asking $19,999 then you should be able to do a bit better then that especially since it's January and I'll bet it's ghostly quiet in his dealership. I paid $23,000 for a new 2013 X213 last April (window sticker $26,750 Canadian).

We bought our "used" 2010 213EXP in September of 2010. It was used by the previous owners for about a month, before they decided to trade it in for a bigger unit. I could not tell it was a used unit, comparing it right next to a new 2010. We paid $17,400 + tax (came to $20,000 even), which included a WD hitch and equalizing bars, and battery. When I offered $20,000 all in, I was told they couldn't do it (they wanted $21,000 all in), so I got up out of my chair and turned for the door, about 5 seconds later we were shaking hands on $20,000.
So if you are paying 19,995, plus tax, I think you can do better.

Also remember if your buying a 2013 used, the warranty is NOT transferable from Jayco. So your buying a used trailer with no warranty for 2k/3k less than you could get brand new with a factory warranty. I would work the price of 19,995 down a bit to make it worth a partially brand new trailer with no factory warranty.

I bought my 2013 x213 for $18,500 in February. That included a WDH and brake controller. Sounds like they want too much.

The X213 is quite popular, might be tough to talk them down too much. We bought ours new and it was stickered at 25900.00, we bought it Feb 2012 and got it for $23500.00. Just remember that in the spring, prices tend to go up and drop in the fall

I've been told that Jayco typically does a Spring price increase as well on new units ....

Have you purchased the Jayco x213. If you have not, I have a good deal for you if you don't mind coming to North Carolina. We have to sell outs and it has never been camped in. Due to health, we need to get a motorhome.
