Question Water odor??

Noticed the tap water in my 29Y smelled like rotten eggs, or sulfur this weekend. What is causing that, and, how do I remedy it? :blah: TKU, Garry

Did you leave any water in the tank, or the hot water heater tank for more then a few weeks? If so this can occur, particularly with well water. It happened to us, I drained the fresh tank but forgot the hot water heater tank and the trailer sat up for 2 months. When we used it again the hot water smelled really bad. I bleached and sanitized the system and all was well again.

Drain the water from your RV (like when you winerize) then put 2 cups of unscented bleach in your fresh water tank...fill with good water... run all the taps till you smell the bleach water coming out (let the hot water tank fill too) drive the RV around the block a few times to slosh it all around... let it sit for 48 hours... drain the tank and the hot water tank.. fill with fresh water.. run the facets till you drain the tank... re empty the ho****er heater... and that should take care of it..

As mentioned, drain and sanitize and start over.

Which water system were you using, city water or were you drawing water from your fresh water tank? If you were on city water, all you probably need to do is flush the water lines and HWT using the water at your home. If you were using your fresh water tank, then I'd suggest a complete sanitation procedure as previously mentioned.

When using my fresh water tank, I always drain it before leaving for home (usually while I'm at the dump station).

It was left over city water. I never drain the tank, but, looks that's gonna change. I drained the hot water tank last nite. Thanks for the help. Garry
