Keep an eye out for used Hensleys or Proprides. I've seen used for 1K. They are built like tanks, used it fine, they don't wear out.

Dual Cams are good hitches. You could make a much poorer choice.

Wayne,

I'm not aware of any WDH that would "interfere" with the Quadra Lift system, but check your owners manual to confirm. I have heard that many air lift systems state they should be turned off when adjusting a WDH, and I recall reading on another forum (don't remember which one) that with one particular air lift system it was recommended to leave it turned off when towing with a WDH.

The JOF member in the following thread has the Quadra-Lift system in his Jeep, maybe give him a PM and see what his thoughts are on the subject; http://www.jaycoowners.com/showthrea...ra+lift&page=2

Maybe some other folks that have a Qudra Lift or similar system will chime in.

Well I'm off to the dealer to look at the trailers AGAIN! I spent the morning reading anything I could find about the air suspension. I'm thinking I might stay with my current 600 WDH and friction control bar (maybe add a second bar?). My reasoning is the friction control bars are not dependent on weight like the other set ups mentioned above. So if the lift system levels and takes weight off the WDH at least the sway control won't suffer.

Wayne,

Well, if I didn't know better I think you are getting closer to pulling the trigger on a TT

When you do, don't forget to post some pics over in the "Pics of your Jayco" forum!

I just bought a 2010 17z and it is a perfect fit for 3 of us. I was advised against using WDH systems on an ultra light as I heard it could bend the frame of the trailer. Because these trailers are made to be as light as possible, the frame is a thinner gauge metal and not designed to be used with a WDH. I'm not sure how true or accurate this info is, but it is what I came across when I was researching adding a WDH or an Anti-sway friction bar. I am towing with a truck that is rated for 10,450 lbs so I don't think the 17z will cause much of an issue without using a WDH.

Maybe someone who uses a friction bar or WDH with an ultra light can confirm this? Here is the post I read while researching:

Yes, care should be taken when installing a WDH on an ultra-lite TT frame. Most RV manufactures will have a sticker applied on the ultra-lite A-frame warning of any issues should a WDH be used. In most cases they will identify the maximum WDH spring bar rating that can be used.

There are a couple of JOF members that have contacted Jayco directly in respect to their ultra-lite frames when using a WDH, and Jayco has provided a WDH model that would be best suited for the frame in question.

Also, there are many light duty WDH's on the market designed for the ultra-lite PUP's, HTT's, and TT's as well.

All I wanted to use with mine was a simple friction sway bar as I already have the hitch and it is a pretty inexpensive option. I figured it would be better then using nothing but got scared away from the idea when I read about bending frames. I see on etrailer.com from the above link a few WDH options for ultra lites. Do you know if there is a friction sway bar designed for ultra's as well?

The standard friction sway control bar can be used with or without a WDH with the proper mounting brackets, and can be used on ultra-lite and standard A-frame trailers. I've seen the same bar used on some PUP's as well (not with surge brakes).

I haven't heard of any situations where a standard friction sway control bar when properly used has bent trailer A-frames....., but WDH's bending ultra-lite frames is another story.

Well we couldn't sign the papers today but we went with the x19h! We spent 6 hours at the dealer today going in and out of the different models and assessing the differences, our likes and dislikes. We test towed the 19 and it towed great. I can't believe the difference between it and the x213. It was 650 lbs lighter and 3' 4" shorter than the x213 which I really wasn't sure would make a difference but man did it ever. We were gonna test tow the x17z but after towing the 19 we made our decision.
We're sticking with our basic Reese 600 lb wdh and friction control arm set up. We've made arrangements for the dealer to install two six volts batteries behind the two 20 lb propane tanks. I'm adding a second spare tire to the rear bumper (paranoid).
We called a favorite local camp ground to book a site for the May long weekend. All their service site were already booked so we gladly took an unserviced site to test our new TT and new batteries. We're supposed to pick up the trailer this Friday. We're gonna go to Costco on Saturday and pick up a 2000w champion genny for our maiden voyage in May We're both so excited to get out there and enjoy some camping after this past month of mind numbing tt shopping.
Thanks again everyone for the input. I'll post some pics when I pick it up this week.

Wayne,

Congratulations on the new X19H!

I'm sure your existing 600lb rated WDH with the friction bar will work with the X19H once it's dialed in under loaded conditions..., and a trip to a CAT scale can confirm your loaded weights (tongue weight, etc.) and WDH adjustments.

I'm not familiar with the construction of the rear bumper on the X19H, but I would contact Jayco to confirm that it is rated for the additional spare tire. Just about anything mounted on the "standard" thin-wall square tube rear bumpers has a tendency to wiggle a little while in tow putting some degree of stress on the bumper assembly.

While you are waiting for the long May weekend, there is always Camp Driveway
