A few problems with that idea. Propane is heavier than air, so detectors are put low (there is one next to couch), and this thing is solid epoxy, no vents to "breathe" anything. My first guess was some sort of security alarm system, but if it is I don't know how it works, how to arm it/disarm it, etc.

Try to read the sticker and look up the part number. I'd guess a controller for something...????

Great minds think alike!

I read this as I was coming back to report the results of such a search. What I thought was an IC is an automotive relay from Ningbo Forward Relays. That still begs the question about what it is for.

Yep, that's the relay part number, looks to be for a higher power (25-30 amp) application. I was referring to what appears to be a sticker on the right side not visible in the photo.

Are those the only wires attached to it? Those appear to be heavy enough to be primary power in and out wires. There should also be some control wiring to it that you might be able to follow to a switch.
Possibly power awning?

ARoamer had the right idea - I didn't even notice the label. If I'm understanding what it does it appears to translate the 7-pin information to the appropriate trailer lights; not sure why that is needed, but might indicate it is using trailer battery power for the lights? And why would it need to blink, when it is in a normally inaccessible location?

I'm late to the party here but that's most likely the JaySmart lighting controller that blinks the side and tail markers.

The blinking light is probably just for a "heartbeat" indicator that the system is running correctly.

I'm assuming that:
S = Stop
T = Tail
M = I have no idea. Marker?

All true, except the part about JaySmart. It is in ones that don't have JaySmart, like mine.

That is the JaySmart lighting system, it is NOT to be confused with the JayCommand system. The JaySmart is the turn signals, brake lights etc... I have the same module in the same spot.
