Where to re-locate break away switch?

I needed to adjust the position of my lp gas tank on the 145RB.
Now I need to move the break away switch too.
Originally it was located on the inside frame rail next to the lp tank within 3/8 inch of the tank.
When the ever so loose tank rocked back and forth, the tank hits the switch which doesn't seem safe at all.
I would say that the switch was mounted vertically.
Instructions say to mount it on a horizontal surface close to front of the coupler.
What are my options as far as re-mounting the switch, vertical vs horizontal?
The switch needs re-location because new J-hooks for stabilizing the loose tank will also interfere with the Brake/ break away switch.
thanks for responses!

I would think anywhere it would get a "straight" pull-out of the plunger to activate the switch. Mine is mounted horizontal... Getting banged around should not hurt anything as long as the plunger is in place. The pressure snapped in plunger physically separates the two internal spring contacts. It also has to be installed where sharp turns will not pull out the plunger...

Thanks for responses.
I checked a number of websites and postings and got a wide range of ideas/suggestions.
I re-located the switch to the outside edge of the frame just behind the coupler.
This moves the switch away from the side of the LP tank which was my goal.
Rather than loop the cable through the safety chain as did the dealer, I will hook the break away switch cable to the TV with a threaded chain repair link from Home Depot.
