white hawk

I recently purchased a White Hawk tt and also a storage cover for it. While putting on the cover I tore it in two places. On the outside of the tt and at the back and the top there is a piece of metal that sticks out about 3 " on each side. It looks like it might be some type of roof drain. They make it very difficult to put on the cover. What are these ? Can they be removed ? Has anyone else dealt with this problem ?

They are drain/gutter type extensions to push the water away from the sides of the trailer. I haven't removed mine and I don't cover my trailer. I've read where people cut small pieces of pool noodles to place on them to prevent the covers from tearing

Congratulations on the White Hawk and welcome to the forum.

Another option I've read about, is to put a cut in a tennis ball and put that over the gutter extension to protect the cover.

That's exactly what I do - works perfectly, no tearing! You just gut a large "X" in the ball with a utility knife, press it over the gutter tension and it holds on nicely.
