Whitehawk 20MRB Fresh Water Fill

Greeting Jayco Community Members,

Newbie question. When I fill the fresh water tank (approx. 40 gallons) at home by my old self, I appear to overfill the fresh water tank because all of a sudden there is a huge dump of water beneath the trailer. I'm not proud of the fact that I keep doing this. Do I run up the stairs and check the tank's level? Having difficulty with this job.

Sounds normal to me. Although ours overflows out the same hole as I am filling so it squirts back at me.

Fill it until it overflows and you know it is full. No problems with that. Enjoy the trailer!

Cheers

I have the same issue on my WH 28dsbh. I didn't realize there was an overflow underneath the trailer. It dumped about 5 gallons or so it seemed the first time I filled it. My old trailer overflowed out of the fill hole. I'm actually considering installing a shut off valve so I have that much more water to use when I fill. I mean what's the worst that could happen, it spills out of the fill hole??? Maybe I'm missing something

Same issue here. The water seems to syphon out of the fresh tank, and the shut off valve is exactly what I installed. Now I fill until it starts to come out of the tube and close the valve.

Don't forget to reopen the valve before the next fill or you might rupture the tank

Why would the tank rupture? The water would simply overflow from the input

Not if the hose going in is near as big as the inlet. Don't ask me how I know
