Whitehawk 27dsrl

i am curious if anyone has installed a water filter permanently in a Whitehawk. I have been thinking about installing on either under the sink or side compartment where water comes in. A friend of mine has a flagstaff and he has one and thinking it would be a lot better that installing one everytime we go camping??

I have been wondering the same thing. We use a slick countertop unit made by APEC (4 stage r/o). It does a fantastic job. It's slow, but it really filters the water. We also use their full house system in our home. A super company with excellent products and support.

My only concern having it inside the TT is when you have to change the cartridge. When I change the filters in my basement at home from the well its a messy job even with shut off valves close by, its always water all over the floor. I would keep it outside the TT.

If you shut the water OFF and put a bucket or bowl under the filter, it really is NOT messy to change a water filter.......

I have a 27DSRL and find the external much easier to change and less hassle when winterizing:

Before I got my current trailer, the Surveyor had one under the sink. It was a total hassle. There was no way to get any type of container under it to change the cartridge. I removed it and made a bracket to hang it on the outside of the trailer... SOOOO much easier for winterizing and cartridge change. So I use the same set up now on my White Hawk... except that I just buy a new blue inline filter every year.

Sorry... but I never took pictures of that. It was simply some stainless strap material that I bent and drilled so I could hang the bracket on it. I screwed it into the side of the trailer low enough to get into the aluminum frame of the wall.
