WhiteHawk Roof Cleaning
Decided to tackle the job of cleaning the rubber roof this weekend. I expected this to be a hard job.
I was so surprised at how easy it was and how good it came out. Nothing more than the spray, a sponge mop, and a bucket of water for rinsing.
I bought this stuff and it did great...
These are some pictures showing just how well it came out. It was pretty dirty looking.
There are a few light areas of blackish spots remaining. I understand these happen to just about all rubber roofs and they don't really affect the performance of the roof. In any case, it came out much better than I expected and it wasn't hard at all. The cleanser just stripped the grime right off. I tried with plain water just to see the difference and almost nothing came off that way. Wow!
Next week I am going to freshen up the seals with the Alpha Systems sealant. Hopefully, that job will go just as well.
By the way, the product says to air dry but I decided to do a thorough rinse off. I didn't want to leave the chemicals on the roof after clean since Alpha Systems says UV protectant is not needed and could in fact do harm. I doubt there was any harm in my cleaning job but I thought a good rinse was the safer plan.
