That was tried one year in WY. Guess which side wasn't overly enthusiastic?

SO . . . . how are they publicizing this rally? I know they haven't mailed, e-mailed or called me about it even though Jayco has my product registration information with all that info.

Word of mouth is great but somebody has to make an effort at marketing to get it started.

JAYCO is not involved anymore. They stopped financial support of both JAYCO and STARCRAFT clubs after the downturn in 09. RCMI (club managers) are operating solely on dues, small profit from the rally fees and wearables. However the club is still listed on the web-site and in the brochures.

There is talk about renaming the STARCRAFT side since it has been allowing members to buy other brands since the sponsorship was pulled. Consequently, there may be an official merger of both clubs after that happens by RCMI.

Anyone attended a rally in the past? Do you recommend them? We are new Jayco owners and would be interested in learning more at one of these events.

The wife and I are newbies to Jayco and camping but have decided to go to this rally if it happens. It is really very strange that there is so little info., promotion and as a result seemingly little interest.

Interest has been dwindling for years, mainly because of families longer being involved. Since schools and others think sports etc have to be a be a 365 day a year activity, nobody will give up the time to go. It's actually a shame since our kids had a blast at the rallies.

I know with STARCRAFT we used to draw 350/400 (one year we hit 500), but now they're lucky to hit 125/150. I think last year JAYCO only had 60+/-.

Obviously not enough participation. As I mentioned before, if you can change plans and want a fun week you may still be able to sign up for the STARCRAFT Rally.

We got the cancellation call also, gosh, they couldn't even get the 50 rigs necessary to have the rally. It's sad that kids are so busy with sports and social media that they no longer have time for family fun.

My wife and I are sitting here in the motorhome at Country Oaks Campground in Kingsland Georgia, wondering what happened to family camping.

We still got it for sure. My kids don't have all that stuff and we don't allow the worldly crap to interfere with our backwoods sheltered lifestyle. The world is getting crappier by the year. It's why we homeschool and do things our own way.

So, WE still believe in family values and family camping. Headed down south to meet up with another forum member tomorrow. Staying east of Baton Rouge at Lakeside if anybody's near there.

2017 International Rally

I don't believe this rally being cancelled is an indication that family camping is on the decline lol... as others mentioned doesn't appear to be promoted much. Others may just not have interest in a manufacturer specific rally.

We have a group of family and friends we camp with regularly and there is never a shortage of families where we camp.

With that said, I'm sorry some of you who wanted to attend will not be able to. That is a bummer.

I have been to a couple of SOB (some other brand) rallies and I do not recall much for kids of any age to do. Most activities were geared toward adults.

I agree that family camping is booming and rallies are declining or at least it seems to me that is the case. Just try to get a reservation in the summer or a holiday.

That's why STARCRAFT is fairing much better than others. Kid's crafts and games, bicycle race, teen nights etc. Yep the numbers are still dwindling, but many have made everlasting friendships because of the rallies.

Disappointed

What a shame. We had the rally on our calendar to attend. Tried contacting the organizers multiple times to get additional info but they never responded. We are new to TT camping (previously tent campers) and were so looking forward to seeing and learning from vendors and other campers.

Details will be found here. http://jaycorvclub.com/

I have not heard of the 2018 plans yet other than it at the fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana. My thinking is that will be well attended due to it's location. Close to the Jayco plant and a very nice area.
