2003 jayco jayflight

I just bought it and the hot water only last for 10 seconds before it gets cold.

Sounds like a bypass line between the HW intake and outlet is open.

Also if you have a outside shower make sure the valves are closed.

When you look at the hoses at the back of the water heater, you should be able to see and identify one water line going into the tank and one water line coming out of the tank. Both these lines will have a valve on them.

There should be a line also going directly between the two lines with a valve on it. That valve may be the one that is open.
