2007 27BH Converter Type

We have a 2007 27BH that has an Iota Converter. How can I tell if it is a 2 or 3 stage converter?

I have seen some posts that there is an option on some models to upgrade it to a 3 stage if it is a 2 stage but when I removed the front cover and the drawer above there are no model numbers visible and I would prefer to find out the model without removing the entire converter.

Thanks for the help,

Eric

Eric,

If it's an IOTA DLS then you have a 2-stage converter/charger. If the converter/charger is attached to the back of the Load Center (breaker/fuse panel) then it can't be upgraded to a 3-stage because there isn't a connection port to plug in the IQ4 smart-charger upgrade.

If the IOTA converter/charger is located separate from the the Load Center, then there "may" be a connection port to plug in the IQ4. The connection port looks like this:

Bob,

Thank you for the explanation, I believe the converter/charger is on top of the load center so it sounds like it is a 2-stage converter but I will double check to see if it has the extra port you reference.

Thanks for the advice,

Eric

I had to use a small mirror and a flashlight to confirm that my '2005' IOTA didn't have the connection port.

Been wanting to upgrade to a 3-stage Progressive Dynamics unit for the last couple of years, hope to make the upgrade this summer.
