2016 Pinnacle slide remote

Noticed this weekend the remote that extends and retracts the slides, awning, and controls the lights isn't working on all the slides. 2 of the 5 slides won't respond to the remote. They work fine with the slide extend switches, but not the remote. The remaining 3, lights, and awning are fine. Where would you start to look?

The control board should be behind your wall in the storage.
It has fuses and breakers on it.
It should be behind a screw on panel of its own.

Wouldn't a fuse or breaker keep it from working at all? The 2 that won't extend with the remote work fine with the switch.

It could be the relay on the board.
I'm pretty sure there is fuses (breakers) for the slides on the board too.
I'm going from memory. I would have to look at it again.
I know there are breakers on it. I had to change one as part of a NorthPoint TSB.

Our 5th is a bit older ('13) but our control panel has relays that control all circuits. Either the remote or a hard switch will activate the relay causing the slide or other feature to activate. My point is, I expect you will find an issue with the remote or receiver. there are LED's on the board that light showing commands received from the remote.

I think it's got something to do with the relays on the board. Are they removable or is it time to replace the board?

I believe my relays can be removed. It's been a while since I've looked at it so I can't say for certain.

Thanks guys. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see if they'll supply the relays and let me change em out.

Can you hear them clicking if you put your ear up to it?

That's what our senior electrician at work told me to look for. It'll be next weekend before I can get back up there

If you can't hear them you might be able to feel the "click". A VOM would also help diagnose this issue as it's possible the relay might close but burned or defective contacts would not allow the motor to get enough power.

Finally had a chance to go up and try to figure out this. Took the board that contains 3 of the 5 switches and all the controls for the lights, and tank levels out of the cabinet looking for relays. There was one at the top of the board. ON the 7 function remote, 5 of the 7 functions still work without issue. I can't see how that is the problem. I called the local Jayco dealer in Mayfield, Ky. Youngbloods RV. As usual, same speech, you have to bring it in or pay a service call, they won't warranty any parts without their techs checking it first. I guess that's not out of line. So their tech is supposed to call me back. Never happened. I called Colerain in Ohio, where I bought the coach and talked with their service department, open on Saturday. The lady told me not to worry about warranty timeframes, they would make it good. their best tech would be in Monday and he would call Monday morning. They told me they appreciated owners that tried to complete repairs. After talking with the tech Monday, they'll ship me out whatever needs to be replaced, a whole circuit board if needed. I'll know more after talking with Eric at Colerain Monday. Got a bud at the campground we frequent that just bought a new Eagle from Youngbloods, he is having issues with small things, one recall, something about a door on his outside kitchen. they won't call him back either...

Talked to one of the electrical techs at Colerain. He told me where the board I'm looking for is located. I'm going up in the morning to remove the back panel in the basement and hopefully find the board. He told me to get a model number, or a picture, and if the system is obsolete, which it looks to be the case on LCI's site, they will either ship out a replacement board, or a upgraded board and remote. I did talk to one of the LCI techs too, and he went through the programming procedure. Think I got it. Great support from both in my opinion.

Oh...I could have told you where it was. I just assumed you knew.

Like I say to everyone. Take down the wall and look inside. You should know what's in there and where the stuff is located should trouble arise.
And you never know what you might find ready to break.
You'll probably also find the tops of the tanks and the gate valves...and also notice there is no insulation down there.

The board was behind an inspection plate in the basement. Got to it last night and the fuse block was there too. The 30 amp running the controller for the 2 slides not working on the remote was blown. Fixed with a fuse....great.
