6V battery charging/maintenance question

I just brought the 6 volt batteries into the garage for the winter. A question about putting them on a trickle charger: can I wire them together (battery A pos to battery B neg; like they were on the trailer) and then hook the pair up to a 12 volt charger?

Thanks

David

Yes, not a problem. Just make sure they are full and check them periodically.

Some "smart" chargers will stop charging after a certain amount of time if they don't reach a high enough voltage. I have one like that, and all I do is disconnect and reconnect and it starts again. I guess they aren't calibrated for the high amp-hour capacity.

Yes wire them in series just like in the trailer to use your 12v charger.
