I can't say for your unit but both of our A/C's have a high/low fan setting on the thermostats. However, there's not much difference in noise between the two settings. That said, last year I noticed one of the fans making much more noise than the other. I'd describe it as a pulsating, droning and almost thumping that would come and go. I found a little bit of play in the shaft and replaced the motor (Amazon purchase) and it solved the problem.

Yeah, my 19RD's two-speed fan is Loud and Louder.

The air rushing past the louvers creates quite a racket.

yes there is two fan speeds, loud & louder! I'd like to find a lower third & fourth speed.

I just leave my BR unit on "Loudest" to drown out the party carrying on til 1AM.
