AC leaks during rain

We've had a lot of rain lately in our area and when I went to check on our TT I noticed a very small amount of water (about a tablespoon) on the floor below the AC unit. I'll probably go over this weekend to scope out the problem. Anyone experience this type of issue? Suggestions on where to look?
Thanks,
Bob

Check the hold-down bolts. They are visible after removing the inner trim. Should be one at each corner. They loosen with time.
If your unit is older the seal between A/C and roof may have deteriorated to the point of needing to be replaced.

Thanks RedHorse! Is the seal a type of gasket, a part that I would order from Coleman?

There was a sticky in one of the other sections here with photos on how to replace the A/C gasket. I cannot find it now.

I think the gaskets are a standard size, not sure though.

FOUND IT!!! http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/me...albums262.html

As RedHorse1 suggested, check the bolts first. The AC unit sits on the gasket and the gasket compresses over time. Often snugging down the bolts will do the trick. Much easier to give that a try first.

I bet your gasket is fine, you just need to tighten down the 4 bolts ( just make them snug) do not over tighten.

Hey Jay!
What everyone else says.
I think the gasket is a spongy rubber thing. The link that "Camping" posted seems to have some pics of the seal. I think he's right that there is a standard size and I seem to recall seeing them in my local RV parts place.

Check your filter for being clogged up with dust/dirt, AC drain tube/tray for debris etc. You can start by snugging down the AC mounting bolts and test your work with a fair amount of water on the roof around the AC unit. If it still leaks might want to pull the unit and check the gasket itself. mine had creases in it and a spacer smashed between it and the roof as seen in my pics. No leaks since but did find you should check the mounting bolts after a few trips with a new gasket for tightness.

Heres the how-to I did a few yrs back..

Here is a neat pictorial showing the typical RV Roof Mounted Air conditioner.

You can see the 14" x 14" roof gasket here. These are the only four long bolts that holds the roof mounted air conditioner in place.

You can drop the bottom assembly cover and see the compressed roof gasket. My OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer A/C roof gasket comes loose alot and needs re-tightened. I guess this has to do with running over rough roads alot... I just make sure the four long bolts are tightened enough to compress the 14" x 14" roof gasket by at least a 1/4-inch...

Thanks, ALL, for your help; those are some great pictures and illustrations. That was indeed the problem, 4 loose screws.

I love happy endings!

BTW, I didn't see where you mentioned the year of your JayFeather. It could be helpful information for others.

Thanks guys, had this issue with my 2006 jay flight, rained one day like a bugger and it started dripping inside right out of the ac vent trim. Never had water issues during warm weather with the AC on, so I knew it wasn't the condensation tray.
