Add a bed area slider switch

We have the Jay Feather 25RB with the slide mostly blocking access to the bed while retracted. I forgot the need at purchase might be to be able to access the bed with the slide in (rest stop usage if needed). I could climb through sink/counter.
I've seen posts for adding a second switch for the pump, I assume it would similar but with a different (momentary) type of switch.
Is this a good or bad idea?
I stopped by the dealer and he says in his 26 years nobody has asked for this. I don't see this being too difficult, just routing wires.
Any ideas out there?

Thanks

I have seen trailers with pump switches in both the bathroom and at the main panel. I don't think a temporary contact would work well, I think you would probably have to have the main switch on for this to work. I suppose that it might work if both could supply power to the pump at the same time, but that is not the way it is generally done; the power sources should be isolated or coordinated.

The "best" way to do this would be to have two "two-pole" switches mounted, so either would activate the pump. But that would require replacement of some of the wiring with 3-conductor.

The "easy" way to do this would be to just move the switch from the main panel to the bathroom. Nothing says it has to live on the main panel.

Sorry, I added a little confusion by adding in the pump scenario.
I'm looking to add a second switch for a slide.
Which should only be active while pushing said switch.

Oh, sorry! I see how I misread that now.

Yeah, sounds like an interesting idea, not much experience with slides but as a Computer Engineer, I would think it would be doable for a basic all mechanical slide system. If you have a more advanced system with a command system, then it could be more difficult. Then again, some of the command systems allow you to control your slides from a phone, so that might be a route there.
